I finished my first AMV finally. Six months of having it cut for cut in my head and not being able to make it on my old computer has finally paid off.

This was my first attempt at anything like this, before about five days ago I'd never even seen Windows Movie Maker, let alone know how to use it. That part proved simple enough though. In the end I'm ecstatic with how it turned out. It almost perfectly matched my mental picture, which is rare for me. I'd like to have done better on a lot of things but unfortunatly WMM has limited capabilities I've found (RAWR! no overlap tool?), so I'll be purchasing Adobe Premire before I make my next vid.

Lyrics-Cloud Connected Lyrics

[Verse:]

People like you
You live in a dream world
You despise the outside
And you fear you're the next one

It's in your dream
There's just one question
Should I kill?
Or should I be left behind?

Sick and tired
Of all your complaints
This is the hour
We bring it down

[Chorus:]

I've come to realize
Every little glimpse, you fade
I was told that I could fly
When least expected, cloud connected

[Verse:]

You seem to be
So introverted
How come we fail?
With all that is given?

You crossed the line
You remember my name
Time runs backwards
As long as you are heading that way

Well, I gathered that they met up with everyone on the Gekko, returned to Bellforest, got married (guest list Axel was holding said Renton and Eureka Thurston) left the kids with Axel and went on a trip to get some much needed "alone time". So yeah, I would say "making babies" isn't that far from the truth, if not a bit not lacking in tact. XP :D

Also, I just realized this myself a while ago. This image happenes to be the final DVD cover. I'd seen it before, but I never looked closely at it. It gives you a great deal more closure if you do.

Black Lagoon has been added to my list. Starts a little slow and cliche, but after about 4 episodes it gets hella good.

^I believe it refers to the seven swell. Other wise it's just because it sounds cool.

In the Japanese TV broadcast there was a title card at the end of the final episode that was absent from the fasubed version. It's not much, but it's a bit of welcome closure.

Last Frame

I really don't think a sequel is a good idea. We already got a happily ever after. I wouldn't be opposed to a sequel with a whole new set of characters, or a prequel though. I think there's more that can be done with the E7 universe, but this paticular story is complete in my opinion.

^The problem with that is there's really nowhere to go after EoE. The end of the world just happened, what's left to tell? The point is the end of Evangelion is the worlds new beginning, continuing it from there would defeat the purpose.

You can however, rework what's already been done. The question remains though, is it worth the trouble?

I would definatly enjoy a total built from scratch remake as long as it was faithful to the original. This doesn't exicite me as much, but I'm still looking foreward to it. If it turns out to suck or just feels pointless it can always be ignored. If that's the case though we'll all be stuck waiting for the live action movie to get rolling to see more Eva, so I'm hoping this is worth it. :)

Oh and no, I mean Kawaru is supposedly going to be a prominant character in Rebuild. He's still an Angel (I would assume), but he'll be around a lot longer before that.

I also just thought of something, if Kawaru's around perhaps we'll see the egnimatic Unit 4 in action? That would would make me crap my pants.

I've been following this it's announcement. It's not a total remake, as it will be using animation from the original series mixed with new animation. Let's hope it really feels new, and Anno isn't just George Lucas-ing his work. ;)

The first movie should have a US release this summer, and will cover the events of the first six episodes of the original series. No info on the other three films as of yet, but supposedly the fourth will be an entirly new ending. It's also rumored there's a new character being added in the second installment, and Kawaru will be a present character in the beginning.

I totally agree, but often times movies based on series like this are terrible. Take the RahXephon movie for example, it contradicted the series at so many points it was a chore to watch. The only thing I could see working is a sequel, assuming there is some logical reason for the trapar to remain on earth after the scubcoral left, or a prequel. I don't think either are very likly, as the end of the series seemed pretty final.

Perhaps this is one of those mystery anime moments we'll never get the answere to, like what Gendo said to Ritsuko before he killed her in End of Evangelion. XD

Well I'm going by a fansub here, but I happend to catch the english version of episode 40 on Adult Swim, and the part where Renton, Eureka and Norb are traveling down the long hallway in the shrine of Sakuya, he mentions that the corpses along the passage were saints who fused with compac drives to try to cross the Zone with Sakuya and died in the attempt. The fansub I watched had that translated this line as "tried to fuse with compac drives". That may seem like a small difference, but "tried" impies they couldn't do it at all, but the english translation implies they could manage to fuse with a CD but failed. Perhaps Dewy managed to succeed where they failed, assuming the english translation is more accurate.

That is however, still annoyingly ambiguous for a show that was otherwise so well written. :/ I hate plot holes.

^Most of what you say is true, although I think your going so far as to defend bad decision making by reason of a stressful job position. People are elected in the hopes that they will make good decisions for the country and it's people, and in my honest opinion Bush has not done that, and the majority of this country agrees with me on that. Stress is no excuse for poor job performance in anything, from my job to the presidency. If your going to run for President you damn well better be ready for what it is your getting into. He'll get no sympathy from me.

I tend to get inspired to make AMVs, which I never actually do because I don't have the patience to even attempt editing. I have this perfect Eureka Seven AMV laid out scene by scene in my head, but I just can't bring my self to try it. >_>

It's true we have a pathetically low voter turn out. This is part of the vast number of problems with our society that have lead us to this point. I would however like to point out that we do not have a direct democracy, we have a representative democracy. In other words, each state counts for a certain number of votes in an electoral congress based on population. In the 2004 election, John Kerry technically got more votes from the civilian population, but Bush possesed more votes in the electoral congress because he happened to win in states with larger populations. I agree this system is rediculous and should be changed, but that's what we currently have. This fact is probably not well known outside of America, but more people voted for Kerry than Bush in the 04 election, Bush won on a technicality.

Hell yes. At the very least in the US it is. I really don't have much sympathy, most people in this country make terrible diet choices, and to top it off everybody wants to convince me they have some sort of mental condition causing them to compulsivly eat or some such nonsense. I'm willing to put money down that for every one person who actually has a compulsive eating disorder there's 800 people who just don;t know when to lay of the fast food. If your fat and happy by all means be happy, but don;t expect me to view you as anything other than fat, because that's what you are.

Mind you this is directed at the morbidly obese, not anyone whose a little out of shape. That's excusable, I don't work out regularly either, I know how it is. If you think I'm talking to you there's probably a reason for it.

An inevitability at this point considering the USA's "shoot first ask questions later" style of foreign policy. Everybody in the middle east is determined to start a fight with us, and we're all to happy to provide one in the name of peace and democracy. Although frankly this concerns me considering our military is severly distended as it is. We're likly headed twards a draft. Thankfully I have family over sea's that would be all too happy to let me live with them. :)

I've given up on worrying about the actions my country takes over seas. The last seven years have proven without a doubt that this administration will do whatever it wants and damn the consequences, so whether or not the American people ,or anyone else for that matter, approve is irrelevent. My only hope is the next president is intellegent and clever enough to clean up the mess when the current administration goes under. You can debate the morality of it all you want, but it will happen.

If that were the case why do they always end up with the clever asshole looking to score? o_0

Pardon my cynicism, but I've been ignored by women my whole life, and I just don't think that nice guys are what they look for. Just my honest opinion, no offence to the ladies present.

I definatly am siding with the majority here and going with Buddhism. Most other religions do nothing but bicker over who worships the SAME GOD the right way. Some of them decide to put bombs on planes, and some of them drop bombs out of planes on the people who put bombs on planes, and everybody around it all starts endless arguements over morality without realizing MORALITY IS RELETIVE, and everybody ends up being pissed off at everyone else. Meanwhile, Buddhism just kind of shrugs and says "hey man it's cool if you want to do things that way, but we're gonna chill and be happy".

Oh, and anyone who voted Islam must be Rastafarian.

^ And seriously, if that pissed anyone off, you need to learn to take a joke. ;)

Often times the opening credits are cut entirly for the tv broadcast in the US. If they are not it's usually in the original Japanese. I prefer the original language with subtitles for anything foreign I watch. Dubbing ruins the flow of the dialouge, and often just looks and sounds awful.

Slightly off topic here, but perhaps someone can clear this up for me. Why is it Japanese music has so much english scattered around in it? I've never heard music from any other culture randomly switch languages in mid sentence. Seems rather odd to me.

I see this topic brought up a lot these days, and I've had quite a bit of time to ponder it. Here's my conclusion.

The leaders of our country seem to suffer from a similar mind set to born again Christian types. They mean well, but are so convinced their own methods and beliefs are correct they behave in a very condecending and beligerent manner to the rest of thew world.

A lot of people seem to be under the impression that Bush is some sort of evil mastermind. Perhaps it appears that way from the outside, but from where I sit (which happens to be no more than 20 minutes from Washington DC) the only thing George Bush and his administration is guilty of is total repeated incompeteance when it comes to military strategy and intellegence. I don't believe Bush lied about Saddam Hussein having nuclear and biological weapons and Al Quida ties, because if you had asked me before we tore up the country looking for them I would have said "hell yes he does, he's Saddam frickin Husein!" By the time it became apparent that this was not the case we had already commited to the invasion and there was nothing we could do. There is a point of no return when it comes to military operations, and a full scale invasion with the majority of our countrys armed forces obviously crossed that point. I don't believe this was entirly the fault of the Bush administration. This was more likly a result of poor information and decision making on the part of the entire executive branch of our government. These problems have been further exasperated by Bush's poor choice of cabnet members.

I totally agree that George Bush is an incompetant leader. He has made dozens of poor decisions and dug our country into a hole that will be very difficult to get out of intact. I've read several accounts of the initial invasion of Iraq, and easily came up with a better plan of attack with no military experience at all. The plan I created in my head turned out to be remarkably similar to the US Marine Corp's initial plan of attack which was rejected by President Bush in favor of a more direct and messy strategy. A ninteen year old college drop out could think of a better attack strategy than the commander in chief, it'd be funny if it wasn't true. That is one of hundreds of examples of poor decision making on the part of Bush and his administration. I do not, however, believe he made any of these decisions knowing they would end this way. Bush is an idiot, not a super villan. I honestly believe that he is doing what he believe is right, however misguided and foolish it may be. The road to hell is paved in good intentions. Apparently that's what our tax money is currently going to.

My personal list in no paticular order, feel free to disagree.

Evangelion-Got me into anime, and was the opiate for my mind for at least two years. Arguably the most influential anime of all time. Love it or hate it, we've all seen it, and we all know why.

Cowboy Bebop-Nuff said.

Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X-All around the best samurai action series I've seen. Although the series had a terrible ending and it's rather cliche at times, the majortiy of the central characters are great and I've yet to see another series do swords fights as well.

Eureka Seven-My newest favorite. If you've only seen the dubbed version on tv or dropped it after the first few episodes, forget everything and watch it subbed past episode 13, you'll see why it's on here.

And then you've got your classic feature films:

Ghost in the Shell-more than a decade after the original's release and it still looks better visually than half the stuff on TV today. Trippy, intelligent, and wicked cool, it remains the epitomy of the cyberpunk genre IMHO. I hold the series and the original manga in similar regard.

Ninja Scroll-No plot, just good art and samurai ass whooping. For whatever reason I never get tired of seeing this movie.

Akira-Do I even have to explain?

Those are the best of the best I've seen so far.

As long as you want it to. I still have a working Super Nintendo. Just because new hardware becomes availible doens't make the old stuff obsolete, just out of fashion. Within a couple years from now there won't be any new titles being made on that platform, but there's a rediculously large selection of games availible, especially for PS2. I doubt you've played all the good ones already.

Black metal has nothing to do with punk. That's a whole different subculture.

I do get what your saying though. Listening to Dimmu Borgir does not make you "goth" necessarily. Goth has turned into more of a fad than a subculture at this point though, so technincally anyone who decides to be goth is goth. It doesn't really mean anything anymore. It used to during undrground goth music era, but that's long gone. How many people do you know who listen to Bauhaus or Suixe and the Banshee's anymore? That's real goth music.
